Entries for the Bottle Oven Art Club competition closed at midnight on 8th August 2020, but here are the guidance notes and rules used for the entrants - you can see what went on ...
It's simple (this is what you would have done)
To be considered for the exhibitions and please follow these three easy steps.
Step 1
- You can enter a maximum of 3 artworks.
- Take one good jpeg digital photograph of each of your artworks.
- The photo should be 'full on' and exclude its frame.
Step 2
- Email a digital photograph of each of your artworks. to bottleoven.artclub@gmail.com .
- One email per artwork please, to ensure no mix up about its title.
Step 3
- Include, in each email
- artwork title
- the medium used (e.g. acrylic, oil, lino cut etc)
- your full name
- your age group
- Under 11
- 11 to 17
- 18 and above
- You will receive a return email confirming receipt of your pictures
ELIGIBLE ART
- Artwork must include a Potteries Bottle Oven.
- Artwork must be newly created by yourself during 2019 or 2020.
- Artwork must be in 2D. Regrettably we can't take 3D artwork this year, we simply don't have the facilities to display the works. So no pots or sculpture, sorry. But we can hang flat artwork on the walls!
- Artwork may be: painting, sketch, drawing, print, monoprint, textile, stained glass, photography, or collage etc.
- Any size and any medium.
- By sending your artwork to us you are agreeing to allow us to use the artwork in the online and public exhibitions, and any possible publications such as the exhibition catalogue.
- The deadline for entries is midnight on Saturday 8th August 2020. No entries will be accepted after the deadline.
SELECTED ENTRIES
- These will be announced on this website on Potteries Bottle Oven Day Saturday 29 August 2020.
- Details about a planned physical display at Gladstone Pottery Museum will come later when that can be safely arranged in a Covid-secure setting. Dates to be confirmed.
SOME RULES
- You must be resident in the UK.
- By entering your artwork you are confirming that to the best of your knowledge and belief you own and control all the rights in and to the artwork.
- You must not include any third party material in your artwork unless you have obtained permission from the rights holder for it to be included and for it to be used in the exhibition.
- You must not include anything defamatory, illegal, infringing, hateful, obscene or offensive in your artwork.
- If you are selected for the show at Gladstone Pottery Museum, Longton, you will need to supply the physical artwork(s) in a frame and suitable for hanging on the wall.
